Machining Week 10

This week we continued working on finishing our parts for the x-axis. Last week we managed to machine all the mounts for the two bearing blocks and the motor; however, we could not finish the side holes (holes for mounting the mounts to the x-axis plate). Thus, the majority of the lab time was spent on finishing those holes. The final mount pictures are shown below.

Besides machining the holes, we've also managed to finish the CAD/CAM for the x-axis plate. Machining this plate would be the goal for the lab time next week.

Action Items for Next Lab:

- As mentioned before, the next step is the make the x-axis plate

- We'll also be doing the CAM for the spacers during lab time (if possible)

The goal is still to have a finished x-axis assembly by the end of the semester.

As we start nearing the end of the semester, we've also been reflecting on our work and overall we are very happy with the things we've learned! We can now take any design and machine it if needed. We don't need perfectly sized stock or perfectly set-up CNCs.
